Day 1: By the numbers

San Jose to Goleta.
Seven motorcycles and 1 car.
320 Miles.
$65 over budget.

Great first day. Lots of fun, even in the rain. Too bad we didn't camp. But the ramada isn't bad. Its much better than the Motel 6! (Thanks Jeff!) I'm exhausted. I'll type more later. Thanks Family for all the love and support the past few weeks (shoot, my whole life!) and thanks Grandma especially for the great bon voyage party! We're on the road. The adventure has began. Someone said the adventure begins when things stop going as planned. That happened today at about 3pm when it started raining.

We left San Jose and our house behind, and said our farwells with plenty of family and friends surrounding us; it was a great day. The Bon Voyage party was amazing, thanks to Grandma for hosting! Thanks to all our friends and family who have given us love and support - I will miss you all greatly. The coast along highway 1 was beautiful. Even though it started to rain on us, it didn't stop us from having a great time. It was so amazing starting off our journey with a caravan of friends. I will miss everyone that I had to say goodbye to...it is hard to leave them behind, but I am very excited about what lies ahead. My family will be the hardest to be away from - Love you guys!!!!!!

I can't say how happy I am to have Melissa and Jeff along for the ride today; it is so great to have my friend with me on my first day. :O)

I'm ready for a good nights rest as today had been long and eventful.
