Ensenada to Santa Rosalita, 340 miles

Leaving family was hard, its been an onging process. Goodbyes for days. Finally, we are on our own! Sort of, still have Keith and Michael in tow until La Paz. Super windy and dusty out of Ensenada. Our bikes almost got knocked over by el viento while enjoying the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. The dust and wind died down as we approached El Rosario. We had to make the decision, stop here, or blaze another 200+ miles through the desert. It was about 2:30-3pm, and we promised not to ride at night, but we decided to go for it. The scenery through the Sierra Columbia national park is amazing. The best day of motorcycling I’ve ever had, a great road, amazing varied scenery and no traffic or sign of man mad anything. That’s right, no power poles, telephone poles, nada. It was so desolate amie thought we were in the movie “The Hills Have Eyes” and whenever we stopped for water or pee-break, she was anxious to get moving. So was I, but because the sun was setting fast. To make matters even more interesting, this is one of the longest stretches without gas we will have on our entire trip. I didn't think to fill the stove fuel/spare fuel can before we left, so we had to ask around the locals. Luckily un hombre had a couple of 1 gallon jugs he could part with for a reasonable price. Just in time too. Well, we didn’t make it to Guerro Negro by sundown, but we did see a camping sign at Santa Rosalita. The sun was setting on our right and a full moon rising on our left as we traveled down a very nice road with no one else on it. In Santa Rosalita it was dark and no campground to be seen. We drove around in the dark on a dirt road and made no progress for about 20minutes before deciding to just camp on the beach and hope for the best. It was about 60 degrees, we took off our riding gear, enjoyed a meal thanks to Cliff Bar and Pele, and were asleep by 9pm. A big day with lots of miles and lots of fun.

See you folks! It was great spending the time together!
The bikes lined up, Keith, Michael and ours; sweet rides
The best fish tacos are in San Quentin (so far)
